Valley has a well-staffed Safety Department that is a technical resource to help ensure that we have industry-leading engineering controls, procedures, training, and awareness activities.
At Valley, safety is considered a line-management responsibility. Our line managers work with employees in a team effort to ensure safety is the priority in all elements of our operations.
Policy Commitment:
Valley National Gases general safety policy commitment is as follows:

- This policy will be implemented with practices designed to prevent injuries, occupational illnesses, and incidents in general. Such events cause pain and suffering to valued employees, equipment and property losses, potentially harmful consequences to other persons and the environment, and increased costs.
- All job-related injuries and illnesses are preventable. We will work to prevent injuries and illness through a realistic and prioritized combination of safety engineering/design principles, as well as, behavioral/awareness-based training and initiatives.
- Our strong commitment to preventing injuries and damage cannot succeed, however, without the total support and commitment of Valley’s employees. We expect this commitment and will support it by providing a framework for the practice of proper safety/awareness principles.
- The Company will comply with all applicable governmental and internal health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Accountability is a fundamental requirement of a good safety program. Since working safely is both expected and required of all our employees, performance reviews will include evaluations of employee’s commitment to safety.
