VNG prides itself with a safety record second to none in the industry, employing only qualified, trained local personnel that meet the stringent guidelines of DOT and the Department of Homeland Security.

We use only the latest equipment available and follow strict installation procedures to ensure that your propane system is safe and working at peak efficiency.

Our personnel are regularly trained in the latest materials available such as the Certified Employee Training Program, (CETP) which is a nationally-recognized training program that offers VNG propane employees a valuable tool with classroom training plus practical hands-on installation techniques.

At Valley National Gases, it is an expectation that our company is run in a manner that “it is self-evident that safety is a core value that is exercised continuously throughout our course of business.”

Whether it is at a Valley location, in transit, or at a customer site, we are committed to ensuring that our products are manufactured, handled, and used in the safest manner possible. Valley has a well-staffed Safety Department that is a technical resource to help ensure that we have industry-leading engineering controls, procedures, training, and awareness activities.

At Valley, safety is considered a line-management responsibility. Our line managers work with employees in a team effort to ensure safety is the priority in all elements of our operations.

Valley National Gases has a staff of safety personnel that act as a technical resource to the organization. The department maintains the safety management system, ensures the company stays on the leading edge of industry safety initiatives, acts as a resource to help with injury, vehicle, and product-related loss prevention. The department performs audits at each company location, provides training, provides assistance with engineering improvements, helps develop written procedures and programs, and performs many other activities.

Our safety staff has combined industry experience exceeding 125 years. We have propane safety personnel, medical gas quality assurance personnel, DOT/FDA/OSHA compliance personnel, CTEP proctors, and OSHA 501 course instructors on our staff. We also have a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist and Board Certified Safety Professional as part of our safety staff.

In addition to our Safety Department, there are hundreds of personnel engaged in the improvement of our safety efforts. We have regional and site safety committees dedicated to improving the safety efforts throughout the company. Best practices and safety initiatives at individual locations are shared throughout our organization.

The Team/Company-Wide approach has allowed us to enjoy some of the best loss prevention results in the industry. Recently, several insurers ranked Valley as being among the “BEST IN CLASS” in terms of injury/vehicle loss control.
